Subwaves explores the shape of currents as physical and ideological phenomena. These currents range from ocean waves to acoustic waves extracted from protest music. The concept for the exhibition grew out of a desire to explore methods for sculptural abstraction and improvisation. To bring this to fruition, a catalogue of shapes forms, and objects was developed to be collaged together to create compositions. The exhibition suggests covert pathways and transmissions of auditory and visual messages. These are the subwaves that promote social change.
