I am interested in everyday festivals, AM rituals, and non-monumental memorials. Ascension is a performance metaphor about personal rituals where I insert a staircase leading to nowhere at various non-iconic locations around Brooklyn, NY. Ascending staircases are a metaphor used by many cultures to signify passage into the spirit world or other states of being.
